Today’s Reflection: “Jesus Never Do Anything Just Because”
Read: John 9:1-7 The Sin of the Blind Man?
v1. And as Jesu passed by, He saw a man which was blind from his birth. v2. And Jesus’s disciples asked Him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man or his parents, tht was born blind? v3. Jesus answered, “Neither hath this man sinned nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. v4. I mUst work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. v5. Aslong as i am in the world, I am the light of the world. v6. When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay(mud) of the spittle,(spit) and Jesus anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. v7. And said unto him, Go wash in the pool Siloam, (which is by interpretation, sent) he went his way therefore, and washed, and caming seeing.
Spitting in someone’s direction, especially in biblical time was considered a deep act of shame or dishonor. Even today, it’s often seen as one of the most degrading things a person can do to another. Spitting at someone can and will start a fight…for real. But Jesus, He took what others viewed as offensive and used it as a tool of healing and restoration.
Let that settle:
The very act people would call disrespect
became the vehicle for divine healing.
Jesus doesn’t do anything by chance. His timing is appointed. He didn’t just stop for the man—He stopped at the right moment, for the right reason, and used the right method. Jesus not only heal the man, but He wanted to let His disciples and the people underrstand, it wasn’t about the healing, it was about obendience. The man did what Jesus told him to do without questions. Even if it didn’t make sense, the blid man went to the pool, washed his eyes and the blind man was able to see. Jesus never do anything just by chance, its always a reason…
Maybe He’s doing the same for us.
